Welcome to the very first Book Cover of the Month feature!! Where we go against all rules and judge a book by its cover.
So, without further ado these are our picks for this month!
This was a lot harder than I anticipated!! Funny, I never have an issue with this in a book store. There is always that one book that has a stunning cover that draws me in. Doing this made me realize that it's not just the cover that draws me in, but the title plays a huge role in my decision. I had to keep reminding myself we are looking for the book cover than appeals to us the most, not the title.
I looked at the new releases several times, and the one cover that drew my eye to it every single time was....
Ok, folks. This was NOT an easy task, and I imagine that it will prove just as difficult each month. I saw some really cool book covers and I had to go back and forth in between three of them before I finally made my decision, but ultimately I kept going back to this one:
I think that this cover is absolutely attention grabbing and simple in concept at the same time. This is certainly one that I would not mind displaying on the book shelf facing out, if you know what I mean.
At first glance, there didn't seem that much to it, but the color scheme grabbed my attention. When I enlarged the picture, I loved all the detail of the broken pieces and how so much of it is floating into space. It may even be quite metaphoric to the storyline, as I will surely find out. This book moved its way up my reading list as I read a couple of positive reviews from fellow readers and bloggers that I follow, like Nicole's review at Feed Your Fiction Addiction.
Usually I'm pretty good at this...But like both Erin and Lily pointed out, this whole judging a book by its cover proved to be very difficult! I did manage to come up with my favourite this month and it is...
This book stood out to me a lot. Between the bright(ish) colours, and the mystery feeling you get left with when looking at this cover, it really catches your attention. This cover definitely leaves you searching for more, wanting to open the book and get lost in the story.
From the looks of the reviews I seen not only is the cover good but the storyline itself seems to be really drawing people in. There was a lot of 3,4, and 5 star reviews, and I couldn't seem to find any bad reviews. I will for sure be adding this to the long list of book I want to read!
There were many covers to choose from this month, and Lily and I picked the same cover, for totally different reasons. This book is right up her alley....and I did it for the glitz. Samantha was the odd one out this time...but at least that gives YOU a chance to give us your opinion on which of the two book covers appeals more to you!
