Book Review- Dragons Lair, by Chantel Fernando

When I found my boyfriend cheating on me, I did something stupid.

Or should I say, someone?

Because of that mistake, I’m now stuck in a world I don’t belong in.

I’m a law student. They’re criminals. He’s the vice president of a motorcycle club. I’m a good girl with a strict upbringing. He’s my ex-boyfriend’s brother.

And I’m screwed.

This is the first MC book I've read and I cant say I'm disappointed. From what I've read about other MC books, this one is less raw, gritty and violent. Which I think I'm good with... I don't know how much more raw, gritty violence I could take with a book like this.

I liked the storyline, however I didn't like the characters so much. I found Dex to be very possessive and controlling, which is never sexy. I don't like how Dex got Faye to do what he wanted by intimidating her. I get that big scary biker dudes are supposed to be intimidating but how about you tone it down when talking to the woman carrying your child! I also didn't like how he put her in really dangerous situations when he could've kept her safe.

And Faye! Faye both really pissed me off and made me laugh. At first I found her to be kind of stupid. Who walks into a biker clubs "head office" while pregnant, not knowing if you're going to be safe or not?! And you haven't seen this man in a long time but you're trusting him with you and your baby's life. Then she started to get really mouthy with the other bikers and Dex... there was some really funny banter.

All in all I enjoyed this book a lot. I would give this book a 3 star rating... almost a 4 star but not quite a 4 because I did not like the possessiveness however I still really enjoyed the whole storyline. The family feel the biker club gave off, the funny comments from Faye and even the few dramatic situations they found themselves in made for a good read. But I don't think I will be reading the other books of this series... I don't really care to read about the other bikers and their life/story.
